The House

Founded as a one-and-a-half story log cabin during the colonial period, the house has undergone significant changes. However, the character of this historical building has been really well preserved.
The first major change was the addition of the 'Summer kitchen' on the first floor, somewhere during the 19th century. The room over the kitchen on the second floor originally served as a bedroom, but was at some point converted into the main bathroom of the house.
The construction of a 'reversed gable' in 1999 was a second, great improvement. The master carpenters of Restore'NMore did an incredible job of constructing two large rooms over the front porch, seamlessly integrated with the original log structure. Using the same historical architectural features as were present in the cabin, they created a significant enlargement of the available space, while preserving the 'feel' of the old house. In the process, the front porch was turned into a much better usable 'sun room' and a second bathroom was also added.
