The Garden

Sheltered by mature trees, this is one of the most cherished corners of Windswept Farm - a place where we've spent countless hours tending the soil, planting, weeding, pruning, and harvesting. It’s not just where food grows, but where time slows.

The asparagus bed, thriving for decades, still produces an abundance of tender green spears each spring. Our raspberry bushes are just as generous, bearing fruit twice a year - enough for us, our friends, and a few batches of our signature Windswept raspberry ice cream, a favorite among visitors.

The vegetable beds offer a more orderly abundance: potatoes, onions, tomatoes (yes, technically a fruit), peppers, green beans, zucchini, cucumbers, kale, cabbage, brussel sprouts,  cauliflower, beets, carrots, butternut squash, acorn squash, pumpkins, cantaloup, and watermelon. Herbs like basil, parsley, dill, and chives grow nearby, or in large pots near the kitchen.

The small orchard includes Asian pear, apple, and peach trees that give enough fruit to eat, share, and preserve. In the fall, grapevines hang heavy with clusters of white and blue Concord and Sauternes grapes - a grand finale of the growing season.
